Music
The music department is a popular and central point in the school for the pupils and is a constant hive of activity and creativity, exploring the beauty of music.
We have a range of talented and graded musicians within the school, incorporating drummers, brass and string, guitarists, pianists, technologists and with a particularly strong set of talented vocalists across the 7 year groups in NBA. With two multi-instrumentalists within the department and other key teachers able to support with other instruments, there is a home for any budding musician in NBA.
The school music department is ever growing and is currently furnished with a mac suite with the newest recording software, a recording studio, practice rooms and a specialist sound, lighting and music technician. The pupils receive an enriched curriculum that is regularly reviewed and developed, with regards to teaching pupils a wide range of styles and music from key composers and genres around the world, fostering their love, interest and ability in the subject.
Both inside and outside the classroom, students are encouraged to engage in and progress their skills in a variety of extra-curricular activities, developing their skills and ability in lessons, clubs, activities, shows and peripatetic teaching. We aim to support and develop the skills of all our pupils in a friendly, supportive and purposeful environment.
