Welcome to E-ACT North Birmingham Academy (NBA)

It is with excitement that I welcome you to North Birmingham Academy. As Headteacher, I am privileged to lead a team of dedicated educators and support staff who are committed to providing an inspirational and inclusive learning environment, where every individual can thrive through accessing a high quality education. 

My journey in education began as a PE teacher, but over time I’ve had the privilege of progressing through the pastoral pathway. Through this experience I have witnessed the immense power of education in shaping young minds and transforming lives. It is this first-hand experience that fuels my unwavering passion for having a positive impact on the lives of our students.  

At our Academy, we have high expectations and are ambitious for our students.  We firmly believe in the limitless potential of each and every young person who walks through our doors. Our goal is to not only ensure that our students access high quality teaching, supporting them to achieve academically, but also to nurture their personal growth and development. We have created an environment that encourages every individual to dream big, set ambitious goals, and strive to achieve beyond their expectations. Inclusivity lies at the heart of our ethos and our commitment extends beyond the classroom, fostering a sense of belonging and respect for all; where everyone feels valued, heard, and supported.  We are a safeguarding first academy  

We have a comprehensive and proactive approach to safeguarding, ensuring the safety and well-being all our students is a priority.  We foster an environment where students feel secure, supported, and empowered to report concerns, fostering a culture of trust and protection.  Our students access an excellent Personal Development Curriculum to ensure they have a thorough understanding of all things safeguarding. 

Our students access a broad and balanced curriculum, designed to maximise student engagement and progress, and extracurricular activities that cater to diverse interests.  Through our dedicated staff, state-of-the-art facilities, and strong community partnerships, we endeavour to equip our students with the skills, knowledge, values needed to thrive in an ever changing world; and working in collaboration we will achieve our vision which is:  

North Birmingham Academy is a vibrant, diverse community with a thirst for learning at our heart.  Our students are confident, considerate individuals who work hard to achieve their goals. We are ambitious for all our students, and we help them to ensure they become successful individuals who are ready for the next stage in their journey, be that the world of work, further education, or training. 

We celebrate success and we do this in an environment of inclusivity and care, where every student feels supported and part of a team. Indeed, we embody our values both inside and outside of the Academy in all we do by always Thinking Big, Doing The Right Thing and our unbreakable Team Spirit.
